This bold and detailed horse bust is large (16" h x 15" l x 7" w), weighs 16 pounds, 2 ounces and is signed L M Morise, a French 19th Century sculptor whose work has sold at auction houses all over the world. The record price for one of his pieces was $20,315, Emperor Napoleon on Horseback, sold at Neal Auction Company in 2011 (according to MutualArt.com).
This piece is hollowed bronze with exceptionally detailed mane, facial veining, and teeth. It is bronze from top to bottom (no marble vase). It is a gorgeous piece fit for an area of prominence in any home or office.
