One end measures 4'3" whereas the opposing measures 4'5". This variation is within normal margins for hand knotted rugs of this type, age, and size. Ends are not secured. Multiple areas of thread bare selvage localized to one side. Likely a period correct painted rug with localized retouching of more recent pigmentation in the red field.
