Designed by niels koefoed and produced in hornslet, denmark, in the 1960s, this fabulous set will add beautiful colouring, exemplary quality and a fantastic, timeless scandinavian aesthetic to any interior.

koefoed specialised in creating stunning dining room furniture and these 'lis' dining chairs are thought to have been named after one of the important women in his life. Sculpted from beautiful two-tone teak wood ranging from golden honey to rich nutty brown, these are unmistakably danish with their exacting design, fabulously elegant lines, minimalist form, outstanding quality and use of natural materials.

koefoed's lis chairs are very rare and even more so are his carver armchairs with their standout sleek, stylish and ergonomic arms, of which this set has two. And it's almost unheard of to find a set on the market with cane rattan backs and seats such as this, making these an extremely rare and special set indeed.

all in all this is a jaw-droppingly beautiful and extremely rare set of dining chairs by one of the masters of mid century danish design.

condition
these are in very-good-to-excellent condition, especially for their age. Structurally sound, they have been cleaned and oiled and show only to-be-expected very minor marks to signify their age and the seats are all firm with no issues. Overall they're a fabulous and unbelievably rare set of danish mid-century dining chairs in wonderful condition and if well looked after they should remain so for another 60+ years if not more - please see the photos.
