Terracotta head of the dying warrior of the frontons of Egina 20th century Italy Measures: Height 56 cm Width 25 cm Length 33 cm Weight 8 kg Historical period between 500 and 480 BC Material terracotta Impruneta (Florence) The Pediments of Aegina are two sculptural complexes that decorated the temple of Aphaia on the island of Aegina in Attica. In Parian marble, they are considered among the masterpieces of archaic Greek sculpture a step away from the severe style and are both preserved in the Glyptothek in Munich. The dying warrior is the most interesting subject. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
