The … Read more Magnificent set of three French oil on canvas paintings made in the chinoiserie revival period of 19th century, Europe. The center painting features a large peacock in a tree above a rooster with grasses, birds, and foliage. The other two panels feature framed pictures of two beauties in blue kimonos. One is playfully depicted on a swing and the other is seated by a pond. The pictures are set in beautifully serene decorated flora and fauna backgrounds with blossoming cherry trees and persimmon. Each canvas is mounted in an ebonized frame. The painted scenes have intricate details and a wonderful aged patina with craquelure. From an estate in Beverly Hills, CA. See less
