Though I thought several other images were worthy of the cover this is what the publisher wanted. I love the image. I also trusted they knew more about books than I certainly did so I left this to the experts. This is key in life. We all can know a lot and yet there are others who may know more.
I am confident Gleb knew this was a special image which is why he printed it. I have just one as with all the other prints.

I had the great opportunity to speak to Iris and get her side of the story which is available on pge 140 of CFD. After working with all the best photographers of the era, Avedon, Hiro, Scavullo, and many others named, this was her favorite photo.

I was blessed to speak to so many models and others who worked with my father and was permitted to share their wonderful stories and adventures.

This really was the greatest generation of people and as women of the time set the tone for working women today. These were our trailblazers. I personally am grateful for their courage to sow a path. See less
