From the limited production Block Island collection created by John Hutton (1947-2006) for Donghia, circa 1995. Stamped on bottom of each chair. This design is Hutton’s graphic, highly textural interpretation of the work of Jean-Michel Frank. Stunning set of 4 dining chairs (all 4 with arms) constructed of solid mahogany framework. Intricately basketwoven design (to mimic Rush style wicker) using cane rattan in a blonde honey tone finish. Seat tapers in width from 18.5" at front to 15.5" at back.
Custom, piped seat cushions in Donghia navy blue velvet fabric made of foal fill with hidden zippers at the back. These cushions are not attached, though the inside back has a placeholder for snaps. Cushions stay in place and snugly fit. Very comfortable.
