Item description:
Painting detail, mixed media, oil and acrylic on cardboard, signed "L. Moreno" at the bottom, created by Luis Guevara Moreno, an important Venezuelan artist born in 1926 and died in 2010. Fitted with a black lacquered wooden frame and protective glass. The painting features some elements of abstract art, together with elements of surrealism, and depicts two antique oil lamps suspended in the air and, on the back, an abstract composition rich in shades and drips of color.
Useful information for evaluating the item:
Internet research shows that this artist has numerous auction results, and the eight highest results we found range from €2,500 to €63,742 for a mixed media work sold in 2015 at Sotheby's, all plus auction fees of 25-30%. One of these eight results, specifically the seventh, sold in 2019 at the Hampel auction house in Munich for €3,430, including fees, entitled "Toro," was created using a mixed media technique identical to our painting and is also the same size. All this is to give an idea of the value of this artist's works in general and, in particular, works very similar to ours.
