Unique painting in modern style with expressionist elements, depicting the face of the dying Christ with a cross on the back, with a blue background, created using mixed media on cardboard with acrylic for the black and gouache for the blue, signed "Le Roy" on the lower right. Created by French painter Sylvie Le Roy. Accompanied by a metal frame and protective glass. The blue shade, created with watercolor, surrounding the head of Christ is very beautiful, giving the effect of the Holy Spirit emanating from his face. Datable to around 1970.

Useful information for evaluating the item:
From an internet search, we found two works that were auctioned in 2000 at the French auction house Chambelland-Giafferi-Doutrebente. These are two oil paintings smaller than our painting (approximately 35 by 45 cm), one entitled "Règate" and sold for 31,000 French francs (€4,726) and the other entitled "Provence" and sold for 38,000 French francs (€5,793), both 25-30% higher than the current value. It should be noted that these are amounts from as far back as 2000, so considering inflation, the value of these paintings today is certainly much higher. Finally, we have enlarged the photo of the painting Règate and at the bottom left you can clearly see the signature "Le Roy," which is exactly the same as the one on our painting, further proof of the correctness of our attribution.

Information about the artist and/or manufacturer:
Sylvie, an art lover for 40 years, exhibited with James Mercurin, former president of the ACA (Association of Art Creators), at the Grande-Arche de la Défense in 2007. A multimedia artist, she uses acrylic, gouache, and watercolor and creates collages with chalk and recycled materials. Sylvie Le Roy explores the effects of materials, shapes, and colors, which she mixes or combines to achieve a vibration that evokes emotion.
