Rare piece from a limited series of sierra Nevada mountains which is sought after by collectors. Piece was procured from the original owner in Arizona on November of 2024. Piece was directly purchased in CA. in 1950's with no existing receipts or documentation.

Marion Wachtel is a well-know American plein air painter in watercolors and oils. She lived and worked with her artist husband Elmer Wachtel in the Arroyo Seco near Pasadena, California, in the early 20th century and studied in Chicago under William Merrit Chase. She is collected and exhibited in recent years and quickly, posthumously becoming a sought after CA plein air painter in recent years. She is nationally exhibited in museums and collected by distinguished collectors, such as Jane Fonda. Message with any detailed questions. See less
