(Gloucestershire)", A bright sunny day from the near bank of the gentle Windrush River looking across to a row of old cottages, a foot bridge is to the left, rolling hills to the background, 20" x 24", signed F.G. Trott in the lower right corner front, inscribed on reverse: On the Windrush, near Burford, Glos. and F.G. Trott. CA number 3960, CA purchased fall of 2024 from a major British auction house. The work is undated but probably from the 1930's or 1940's.
The frame is original to the painting and has some marks and scuffs commensurate with it's age.
Trott was a painter in oils of landscape and street scenes. His address is listed as Clifton, Bristol. He was a member of the Royal West of England Academy and exhibited works from 1935-1937.
