The trunk is made in northern Sweden and has old historic paint with initials and dating – 1875 – on the lid. The last letter of the initials is a D which indicates that the first owner was a woman and it’s possible this trunk was a wedding gift as it has both the initials and a date. Frame in solid pine enforced with hand-wrought iron hardware. Wood-bare interior which has never been painted. Original working lock and key. Good vintage condition with some smaller marks and traces of use. See less
