An antique Chinese temple fragment of a temple's strut featuring highly intricate carving and mounted on a custom made stand.
This piece was rescued from destruction by legendary interior designer Lucia Lawrence during a trip to China in the 1970s.
Upon seeing the setup of the demolition site Lawrence paid and asked the workman to deconstruct, instead of demolish, the beautiful hundred-year-old temple, conserving all the intricately carved pieces. These pieces have now been mounted on custom made metal stands (made in Seattle by the famed She-Metal fabricator) and have been used by many top designers as statement piece in homes of dignataries and celebrities.
