c. 1900s - 1910s; Goetz Brewing Co. - St. Joseph, MO
Antique wooden shipping crate from the Goetz Company, a brewery in service from 1859 - 1976. The company was a business cornerstone for the St. Joseph area, employing many community members for over 100 years.
This piece features a rustic look with iron hinges and straps for support. It includes the lid, although care should be taken when opening due to the amount of rust on the hinges. The company name is stamped along both sides as well as on the interior.
As mentioned, this piece exhibits rust on the hinges and the straps; the wood has started to split, but the crate remains in good display condition.
