Early 19th century cherry Masonic inlayed slant front desk. This features three drawers with inlay borders and original medallion pulls. This is a fine example of hand cut dovetails; hand chamfered bottoms rich with tool marks. This desk is nice and pure retaining its original integrity and a testament to the skills of the cabinet maker.
This desk measures: Length 36" Height 37" Depth 16" at deepest point closed.
One of the small desk drawers is signed Abe Richmond on the back. This desk was acquired from an important estate in Madison County, New York.
Provenance: believed to be owned by the family of Abeizer Richmond of Madison, New York, Madison County. Born 1764 Died 1837, Married to Lydia Eaton of Eaton, New York Madison County.
