Rare excellent photo-lithograph printed in 1973 in a limited edition, after a watercolour.
This curated edition of selected works by Giorgio Morandi. After years of studies in order to select and best print the 50 artworks considered most representative of the Bolognese artist, published in 1973 in 2 formats: a deluxe edition, from which this print comes, in 120 copies numbered from 1 to 120; standard edition, in 1000 copies, numbered fr 121 to 1120.
Artwork is printed in photolithography on very thick hand-made cotton paper, designed / produced specifically for this edition by papermill Miliani in Fabriano. Each work is collected in another slightly thinner handmade cotton paper folder, bearing the artist's signature "Morandi" in watermark, especially made by papermill Enrico Magnani, Pescia. Completion of the artwork is October 1973, and the specific number of the edition is on the colophon. Excellent condition. It still bears the original protective tissue paper, which is easily removable without damaging it in order to be framed and hung to the wall. Photos look a little bit wavy: this is due to consistency of the paper.
