It was made by german metalworks, wmf in the first decade or so of the 20th century, and started life as a flower vase, and tastefully converted to a lamp some time in the 1930s.

the electrics have been completely overhauled and brought up to modern standards, with a new british-made patinated solid brass lamp-holder with safety switch function, a good length of premium italian double insulated 3-core cable with vintage style mottled grey linen braid, and patinated brass cord grip. The lamp accepts a single b22 bayonet cap bulb. This piece has an attribution mark,
