This exquisite 19th-century French Régence tabouret exemplifies the elegance and craftsmanship of its era. The rectangular footstool features an intricately carved original giltwood frame with floral and scroll motifs, cabriole legs adorned with acanthus leaves, and classic scroll feet. A central shell motif decorates the long apron, while the short sides echo with delicate flourishes. The gold leaf finish is original and subtly worn, revealing traces of the warm brick-red bole beneath—a hallmark of authentic period gilding that adds depth and age.
