This pair of gilded bronze candelabra, in the Rocaille style and dating from the Napoleon III period in the mid-19th century, is a dazzling example of the decorative art of this period.
Taken from the models of Juste Aurele Meissonnier (1695-1750), architect, ornamentalist and goldsmith to King Louis XV. He is considered one of the figures of the Rococo style.
Each candelabra has six volute arms of light, magnificently decorated with foliage and finely carved with acanthus leaves, testifying to the exceptional know-how of the craftsmen of the time.
The bodies of the candelabra are richly decorated with carvings of putti, ribbon leaves and other vegetal elements, creating a visual harmony and a wealth of details that captivate the eye.
These ornaments add a dimension of fantasy and sophistication, typical of the Rocaille style, characterized by its elegant curves and floral motifs.
These candelabras are not only functional objects, but also works of art that bring a touch of luxury and grandeur to any interior.
Their imposing presence and timeless beauty make them ideal centerpieces for lovers of period furniture and refined design.
