* Pleating and gathering of the karung skin, as in this bag, is a major Leiber innovation. Normally, skin bags have the skins presented as flat and straight materials. A soft, round and mellowed feeling is achieved in this bag by gently hand-pleating the skins. Other designers will machine-pleat skins making them bunch and hard. The shirring was done by hand in this Leiber bag, resulting in a soft skin and in concert with the shape of the frame
