This magnificent pair of gilded bronze wall sconces, dating from the mid-19th century, embodies the elegance and refinement of the Napoleon III era.
Inspired by the original model designed by Claude Galle for the grand salon of the Petit Trianon, these wall lights are today in the dining room of the hunting returns of the king's interior apartment, at the Palace of Versailles.
Each wall light presents three arms of light in the shape of a hunting horn, symbolizing the art of hunting and the luxury of the royal court.
The body of the sconces is decorated with beribboned oak leaves, adding a touch of nature and majesty.
The ends of the arms end in fleurons in the shape of a deer's hoof, emphasizing the theme of hunting with remarkable finesse.
These wall lights are not only sources of light, but also works of art that reflect the exceptional know-how of 19th century artisans.
They bring a royal and historical atmosphere to any interior, recalling the splendor of the court of Versailles and the artistic heritage of Claude Galle.
