This is an original lamp made by the Pittsburgh Lamp, Brass and Glass Company. They were makers of many classic American lamps in the first decades of the 20th century. While they had many designs, one of the best-known designs was the cast metal base with a half-globe reverse-painted shade. The shades often showed scenes from nature.
Ours shows a log cabin with trees and mountains, the same scene repeated on two sides. It is in beautiful condition and provides a generous warm glow to any room. It is about 20" tall with the shade about 16" in diameter. The base is 8" diameter and is lined with felt. It has a becoming, curving linear, traditional design molded in it.
We have fully restored this original condition lamp, with only adding touch-up on the base and re-electrification, retaining its intended traditional pull-chain socket configuration.
