The chair is marked 451 on the bottom of the seat. There is no makers mark on the chair but just this is a common practice for this chair. The early Nakashima straight chairs were often labelled 451 underneath and this example carries that same numbering as well. See less

- This chair is vintage so a base level of wear is to be expected. The chair is in used vintage … moreThis chair is vintage so a base level of wear is to be expected. The chair is in used vintage condition. There are marks, scratches, scuffs, blemishes throughout the wood. Signs of general age, and wear also occur. There is a gouge on the back of the barrel. One of the stretchers on the leg is a different finish than the rest of the stretchers. May have been replaced at one point we are unsure the reason why. The chair sits structurally sound and could be used as is. Please see photos for in-depth details of the condition. less
