Monica … Read more "Untitled Portrait" is a small format, bright contemporary mixed media, abstract portrait painting by Hudson Valley artist Monica Shulman. Monica marries her abstract expressionist style with her love of portraits and drawing. She created this electrifying and fun abstract figure by first painting the flat canvas board with acrylic paint in her signature layered and sculptural style and then once dry, she used oil pastel to create this vivid abstract portrait. Monica used varying shades of blue, red, green, and pink over a white background to create a rhythmic, penetrating portrait that will add dimension and a pop of color to any space. This piece is signed on the back.

Since the beginning of her career Monica has had the pleasure of working with private collectors, art dealers, television producers, interior designers, bloggers, influencers, real estate developers, galleries, curators, shop owners and more.

Monica has been featured in various publications including Popular Photography, Create magazine, the Washington Post and the Huffington Post. In 2019 she was named "Best Artist" in Westchester by Westchester magazine. She is a member of the National Association of Women Artists. Her work has been shown at the American Academy of Arts and Letters in New York City, Photo LA, Art Market Hamptons, the National Association of Women Artists, PULSE Art Fair, and the New York Mercantile Exchange, among others.
