Loads of hand-made detail here--boldly curled and … Read more Semi-antique 1930s verdigris hanging lantern of octagonal shape with soldered panes of glass. Loads of hand-made detail here--boldly curled and crimped ribbon crown, thin twisted ribbon accents applied along the lantern's horizontal seam, and a lovely closed flower bud decoration mounted on the bottom. Lantern has been rewired with heavy brass Edison socket and has bronze rayon cording. Links of chain are steel and show rusty patina. Period verdigris ceiling canopy. A slender but impactful piece of American period lighting. Overall measures 33"L x 7"D. Lantern body to rusty original ceiling ring measures 18"H. See less

Some scratches and discoloration to original glass panes. Some corrosion to metal, especially at soldered joints. Some finish loss to verdigris canopy. Some missing curled ribbon detail on the bottom of the lantern--it ran along the bottom interior edge. Lantern is rustic in style; as such, in good restored condition.
