This central piece is … Read more The fireplace surround entitled “Sapho” is a remarkable work of art, combining spelter and Skyros marble.
This central piece is a clock decorated with a regula sculpture representing the goddess Sappho, accompanied by her lyre and leaning on the clock.
The clock itself is richly decorated with crown and torch motifs.
Its circular enameled dial, graduated in Arabic numerals, is embellished by a garland of polychrome flowers, adding a touch of color and delicacy to the whole.
Accompanying this clock, two cassolettes also decorated with flowers rest on finely chiseled pedestals.
Each element of this trim rests on a Skyros marble base, ending in small spinning top legs, ensuring elegant and refined stability.
This fireplace surround is not only an accurate timepiece, but also a decorative piece that brings a touch of sophistication and classic beauty to any interior.
