Over 300 years ago, a furniture maker was commissioned in China's Hebei Province to construct this exquisitely proportioned wine table. Characters carved into the underside record the name of the person for whom it was made. They literally translate as: "to broaden, to develop, to evolve into more beautiful and colorful."
