His father, Vincent Manago, and his older brother, Dominique Manago, were respected artists although their styles were radically different from that of the young Armand. An independent spirit led Armand to sign his work with the adopted name of Guérin to distinguish him from his family. He studied at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris where he was, among others, a student of Jean-Pierre Laurens. He became a prominent figure in the French naive school. His work is simple, spontaneous, unaffected, with a childlike simplicity that belies the classical training behind his creation. This piece has an attribution mark,
