The design is composed of two stacked cylindrical volumes separated by a pronounced horizontal ring, creating a sculptural and well-balanced silhouette. The dark brushed exterior lends the lamp a refined, almost graphic presence, while the lighter inner surface diffuses the light in a warm and atmospheric manner, producing a soft halo around the central section alongside a more directed downward light.

Carl Thore was the professional pseudonym of Swedish designer Sigurd Lindkvist, whose work for Granhaga Metallindustri represents some of the most iconic expressions of Scandinavian aluminium lighting from the mid-20th century. This model clearly reflects his characteristic approach—combining strict geometric clarity with a carefully controlled, ambient light effect.

With a height of 25.5 cm and a diameter of 17 cm, the lamp has a compact yet substantial presence. Its proportions make it highly versatile: equally suitable as a single pendant over a smaller table or in multiples, where the rhythmic repetition of its cylindrical form and warm glow becomes especially effective.

The lamp remains in very good vintage condition, showing only light wear and patina consistent with age and use. It has been completely rewired with a new textile cord and is ready for use. The interior label further supports the attribution to Carl Thore for Granhaga Metallindustri. This piece has an attribution mark,
