On the Design:

Cream and blue tones underscore a spacious, elegant work of medallion and all over style, teeming with floral patterns and even pictorials (some of which admirers of the craft may recognize to be Buddhist imagery, though this piece witnesses a very European influence in its sensibility). Its detail is commendable, especially in the precise curvature one seldom sees in this large size, such as those of its field spandrels, and especially in the vases and butterflies the keen eye will admire afloat in the field.
