On top, the two explore the natural wonders of the world around them, alive with fluttering butterflies traditionally meaning young love. Below, the pair frolics in a pond among lotus blossoms and goldfish thought to bring an abundance of wealth and harmony. Punctuated by brass medallions, strips of red-lacquered wood give structure to the fabric panels that roll like a traditional scroll.
