An outstanding vintage Brutalist style wall light, attributed to Swedish designers Tom Ahlström and Hans Ehrlich during the 1960s-1970s, is a hefty 21" wide x 5" deep x 51" high. The studio glass shade is 18" wide x 27.5" high. Different light levels create a play of shadows and depth.
The brown wrought iron frame, with a natural patina, is artisan signed. It strongly supports the light amber studio glass, with a striking center that has opaque cream, ochre, and brown colors. The art of forging displayed is exceptional. The glass shade is a separate piece from the frame. It reminds me of a dragon's eye, or is it a Lord Of The Rings revival?
The original European wiring has been rewired to American standards. It turns on/off with a short pull cord behind the glass or by unplugging, but a professional can easily hard-wire it.
