These highly stylized Neoclassical urns have ram's head handles ending with hoofed feet on a pedestal base. Rams heads typically symbolize strength and resilience in Greek mythology. There are beautiful floral medallions on the front and back, exquisitely hand painted. Each lid has a spherical top. There is an abundance of gold gilt outlining all edges. Backstamp on bottom reads: Rosenthal with a crown over crossed swords, Germany, Kunstabtelung [translates to Art Department], Selb. One urn has the initials "MK." Measurements for these fabulous creation are: Height from top to bottom including lids: 10-1/2 inches, Width at widest=7 inches. This marvelous pair of covered urns have been well cared for, gently displayed and are in excellent antique condition, free from chips, cracks, discoloration or other imperfections.
