Wide cantered jambs, supporting gently arched spandrels with carved grotesques and beasts. The carved inner rope twist slip running across and under the key stone which again is carved with a grotesque and c scrolls. All beneath a very wide and generous mantle with shaped edging and under moulding. There are also two large black interior chamber panels with conforming beasts decoration.
