The main 2 pieces of glass are held together with 4 chrome clips. The small bottom center cap piece of glass rests inside the middle piece on a lip of an opening. This allows the easy change of the bulb with out having to remove any heavy piece of glass. Gently lift the center cap and set aside INSIDE the middle section and then you can reach in and replace the bulb and then reset the bottom cap. The bottom cap cannot fit through the hole so no worries about dropping and breaking it once shade is attached to fixture and clips are securely in place. See less
