From a particularly exciting new texture in the Modern Classics collection, this 7x9 modern rug originating from India draws inspiration from Ikat textiles, and enjoys a particularly luxurious silk construction.
On the Design:
One fundamental idea that R & K Principal, Jahanshah Nazmiyal has long taught to his colleagues and teammates is that the best handmade modern rugs are made after one masters the classics. This piece is our collection’s contribution to classic styles reinterpreted completely in a modern fashion. White and cream tones underscore geometric patterns inspired by ikats textiles, enjoying red, brown, blue, and black tones. Further enjoying an intricate, yet quite livable textural technique inherent to the edition, a regal piece exemplifying this collection. It’s both an elegant choice for the modern space and a thoughtful contribution to one of the most regal provenances in handmade Oriental rugs.
