The standout feature of this brutalist piece is its remarkable sand-cast aluminum top, decorated with a central modernist eye-like figure. The raw surface exhibits a beautiful structure in varying gray tones, which constantly shifts under different lighting conditions. Complementing the top, the chrome-plated metal sheet base adds to the table's solidity and robust appearance.
This coffee table remains in good vintage condition with minor scratches to the metal base.

Willy Ceysens (1929 – 2007) was born in Neerpelt, Belgium, into a family with a background in painting and jewelry making. Initially trained as a goldsmith, he later ventured into various artistic pursuits. His portfolio ranged from traditional church objects like candlesticks to more contemporary pieces such as mythical creatures, coffee tables and wall sculptures. Ceysens also took on commissions for larger sculptures and wall installations for municipalities.
Using sand-cast aluminum as his primary medium, Ceysens crafted sculptures and artworks characterized by a rough yet elegant finish. Their raw and unfinished quality adds a unique charm and allure to his creations.
