Elegant, festive silver vessel with a wide oval body, naturalistically domed, the lower section curved and overlapping, with four protruding … Read more Elegant, festive silver vessel with a wide oval body, naturalistically domed, the lower section curved and overlapping, with four protruding bars forming feet resting on the base and reconnecting at the upper rim, the front and back with central cartouches supported by a surrounding floral decoration in relief and openwork, the slightly curved upper rim, two side handles curved upwards in the form of wavy loops connected at rim and base. Matching glass insert with curved and tapered upper edge and incised stonel and fan decoration, as well as a large, cut ground star. Total dimensions: height: 17,5 cm / 6.88 in width: 50,5 cm / 19.88 in depth: 24,5 cm / 9.64 in silver weight: 1.080 grams / 34.72 troy oz hallmarks: - crescent + crown - german official hallmark from 1888 - 800 - fineness - eagle mark - master's sign bruckmann & sons - silver goods factory, heilbronn established 1805, peter bruckmann (1865-1937) was the first chairman of the 'deutscher werkbund', founded in 1907. The bruckmann company produced numerous precious silver objects designed by well-known designers.
