Early 20th century children's art print, featuring the poem, 'The Wren'. Measuring 8 1/8" x 10 3/8" and printed by P.F. Volland Co of Chicago. The colors and patterns are incredibly beautiful, reminiscent of Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles. The illustration on the back is 'Playing School'. Wouldn't this be lovely in a nursery? The poem reads:
The Wren
Busy little restless wren
Bubble out your song again!
Bubble out your gush and glee,
All of which means to me:
"Oh be happy, happy! Yes,
For to-day is happiness!"
