This French print of a 1786 etching of a 14th century Italian suit of armor sports a plumed helmet, lance, sword and footwear for a cavalier. Plate mark provides subtle framing element. Quality rag paper print is floated between glass and acrylic and backed with rag mat. Black frame pulls out the shadows and recesses of the figure, providing greater dimensionality. Acquired from French Galerie Mignaux in Fontainbleau in the 1960s. See less
