A handsome and characterful antique-style swivel armchair, distinguished by its beautifully sculpted wooden frame, sweeping arms and richly patinated finish.

The chair features a broad, gently curved crest rail above an elegant series of vertical spindles, while the dramatic, serpentine arms curve gracefully from the back into substantial front supports. The generously proportioned seat is upholstered in wonderfully aged dark brown leather, retaining its natural creasing and signs of use, and is bordered by rows of traditional brass nailhead studs.

The substantial four-legged base has an appealing organic form, with deeply curved, splayed legs supporting a concealed swivel mechanism. The warm stained oak-toned timber displays pronounced figuring, tonal variation and areas of darker patination that lend the chair the character and depth of a well-loved antique.
