the lamp base is covered in a spiral shape with light cork.
the design would have to come from before the better-known cork models from ingo maurer's early creative years and probably the transition in the design of the ml1 lamps (glass base with cork shade) to the lamps made entirely of cork ("zanil", "zanotl"\.) mark.

original, fabric-covered lampshade in light beige with minimal signs of wear.
