The combination of black illustration against a grey watercolor wash gives both a traditional and modern take on each New Orleans street scene . The first scene of Pirate's Alley illustrates the traditional street car lane with a subtle reference to Tennessee Williams in labeling the streetcar DESIRE. Rue Royale gently highlights the architecture of NOLA, with a cat making its presence known in the foreground, hunting for its own treasure. A delightful addition to any collection. See less

- These original watercolors were acquired in 1970 as two separately framed pieces, and were re-framed as a pair in 1994. … moreThese original watercolors were acquired in 1970 as two separately framed pieces, and were re-framed as a pair in 1994. Both are in excellent condition, having been kept out of direct sunlight over the years. Each painting is 8.5" x 12", with a framed dimension of 14" x 30". Both are labelled as to their location in New Orleans and signed by the artist. A subtle line of demarcation can be seen along several sides of each, indicating where the original frame/matting was located. The current frame has several wear marks, consistent with age. less
