Layers of oil paint and cold wax medium allowed the artist to scrape through, revealing colors beneath. The artist loves creating textures that are similar to weathered walls, and weathering in nature. This oil painting is on gallery wrapped canvas. It is signed on the back, and is in a black wood floater frame with a narrow gold front edge. It is wired and ready to hang.
Laurie MacMillan has enjoyed numerous awards and solo exhibitions, and has had pieces selected for over a hundred juried group shows. Her work is held in personal and business collections across the U.S., and in Canada and England.
