This is a beautiful Victorian era walnut parlor chair, crafted from solid walnut, this chair features a lovely curved sinuous shape and to the back and legs.
The seat is fully caned, intact and in excellent condition.
The backrest features three slats with intricate scalloped shaped carvings that add a unique detail to the overall design.
It is a small scale chair that would have been intended for use in a parlor or dining room. It could also be used in a study as a writing desk chair. Wherever you use it, it will serve as a statement chair, bringing a rich antique feel to your space as well as a glimpse into to the past.
The chair measures 19 inches in length from front to back.
It is 17.5 inches in width, and 33 inches in height
Condition
Very good overall, walnut finish is excellent, rich and has a slight polished sheen. It has been well-maintained for approximately a century and showcases the original walnut wood beautifully.
Areas to note:
There are two screws which have been applied for support on the outer rear leg of both left and right side: they are not noticeable upon first glance, so please be sure to review photos to understand their placement and condition.
There is also a small area of wear to the front right side of the seat (displayed with yard stick) which has shaped the front of the seat approximately a half inch. Please review photos and ask questions if needed.
