Hand-knotted using wool, this vintage Romanian floral flat-weave kilim rug features a black background upon which sits a center floral bouquet of flowers in reds, pinks and blues, while a parrot of the same colors sits atop a yellow branch, wings outreached and tail feathers long. On each side of the centerpiece, bouquets comprising complimentary flowers sit with red flowers and green leaves. This vintage Bessarabian kilim also features at each corner of the three bouquets, groups of flowers to frame the centerpieces. A floral border along the entire perimeter of the piece features pink lilies, red-and-pink roses and blue-and-yellow forget-me-nots, set atop green leaves.
