An outstanding hand built terracotta covered vessel by Montgomery Smith, Circa 1983. Signed on the bottom, M. Smith, ' 83. The lid depicts two whitewater canoers clearly concentrating on their dangerous path as river water's speed and splashes is depicted underneath their paddles. The oblong base of the vessel is the underwater part depicting schools of fish and underwater vegetation done in relief. A perfect piece for the cabin, hunting lodge or the outdoorsy type.
Good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, hairlines or restorations.
The piece measures approximately 8" deep x 15.25" wide x 6.25" high.
