Oil on BoardThese two works depict scenes from the life of St. John the Baptiste. The top work depicts Salome showing the head of the Baptiste at a banquet. The other scene is not immediately identifiable. The hand that painted these works is rather crude. It is possible that these works, small in size, functioned as oil sketches or "bozzetti" in preparation for a large paintings.
