It’s a rare and exciting new curation from Rug & Kilim’s Mid-Century Pasha Collection—a collection devoted to Müren’s remaining and inspired works in our craft today.

On the Design:

This vintage Turkish rug features a beige field underscoring cintamani motifs in red tones—a fabulous play of traditional Oriental rug design and a mid-century modern air that has vast applications. Admirers of the craft may appreciate the cintamani pattern as a celebrated Hindu and Buddhist motif, commonly seen on Indian and Tibetan rugs with the same repetition of three balls above wavy lines as those here. Few ateliers could create such a smart sense of depth and dimensionality in such a reserved way, and this piece is exemplary of that beauty, as well as the many others that speak to Müren as a master of his craft.
