Antique Chabako, an Elegant Storage Cabinet for Tea Utensils, Ceramics, etc. from the Meiji Period.
Dimensions: height 57.5 cm, width 37.5 cm, depth 31 cm.
This charming piece opens with a door and features three open storage compartments and a drawer at the bottom.
The wood is beautifully aged and has a captivating patina.
A subtle Japanese accent that complements any stylish interior and brings an authentic touch of elegance to your home.
On the inside of the door and the back of the furniture, hand-painted Japanese calligraphy is visible with the name of the furniture maker: 大工 本間 弥助 作之 (Crafted by Yasuke Honma), date 明治三拾五年六月下旬建立 (late June, Meiji 35 = 1902), and the location: Nishitagawa District.
